Photos: Go East! at House of Moments

From the moment guests walked through the ancient Indian doors, they were whisked away from Toronto's Leslieville neighbourhood and into an exciting, art-oriented space. Part industrial loft, part intimate lounge, House of Moments is a versatile venue that inspires creativity in art, music and food.

As electric harpist Joanna Jordan played renditions of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and Daft Punk's "Get Lucky", guests enjoyed Buddha Bomb and Cherry Blossom Fizz cocktails while sampling Asian-inspired canapés like spicy chicken lettuce wraps with heirloom carrots, avocado and rice noodle crisps, and grilled Korean BBQ beef short ribs with fried rice and sesame seeds. Food stations featured Thai vegetable and tofu stir-fry in takeout boxes, small plates of citrus-cured albacore tuna and an outrageous cheese display by Cheese Boutique.

The real show stopper, though, was the divine-looking O&B Artisan sweets table, created by Paul Brans. Featuring everything from chocolate origami cranes to edible plates adorned with Japanese cherry blossoms, few guests were able to resist grabbing something sweet on their way out the door.
