We were so pleased to welcome acclaimed self-taught chef and cookbook author Ayesha Curry for dinner, along with 50 of her foodie followers. The evening began with a cocktailr reception with passed bites of deviled eggs and prosciutto-wrapped dates. Ayesha then sat down with Krista Faist (Publisher of Foodism Toronto) for a brief Q&A, chatting about topics like Southern American cooking and family-inspired recipes.
Luma's own Executive Chef Michael Wilson and Chef de Cuisine Jacky Lo executed a mouthwatering menu highlighting recipes from Ayesha’s new cookbook, The Seasoned Life. Guests enjoyed meatball and cabbage soup, as well as sweet and savoury shrimp with grits. To finish, the kitchen impressed with an indulgent key lime pie with cinnamon toast and coconut ice cream. We'd like to thank Ayesha and Krista for joining us, as well as publisher Little, Brown and Company and Ben McNally Books for making this incredible event possible!
