A Dinner in Peru

On Wednesday, July 8th, 2015, O&B hosted a flavourful Summerlicious Culinary Event to pay homage to the next Pan Am Games location: Peru. Featuring the best of Peruvian food and culture, "A Dinner in Peru" was an exciting evening to remember.

Upon stepping out onto Malaparte's iconic rooftop terrace, guests were treated to Chilcanos, a classic Peruvian cocktail made with pisco and lime. As Chef de Cuisine Guillermo Russo worked the ceviche station, servers circulated the crowd with bites of quinoa-crusted shrimp and ají de gallina vol au vents.

Next, guests moved indoors to be seated at long harvest tables for a family-style feast. The menu, crafted by Chef Guillermo and inspired by his Peruvian roots, featured a variety of authentic cuisine, including Creole corn tamales with pork; smoked chicken causa rolls; Andean grain solterito salad; lingcod escabeche and potato pastel; beef seco media luna; seafood paella; tres leches cake with flambéed gooseberries and caramel; and, of course, alfajores. At the end of the evening, guests were given goodie bags filled with Peruvian treats and gifts - the perfect way to take a little piece of Peru home!
