On September 21st, artists and fans alike gathered at The Carlu in downtown Toronto to celebrate the best Canadian album of 2015. Following cocktail receptions in the Grand Foyer and Round Room, the doors opened to the historic Concert Hall. Guests took their seats and enjoyed buckets of Beau's and quintessential Canadian snacks like ketchup chips, hickory sticks, and Timbits.
By 8pm, the awards show was underway, hosted by celebrated children's entertainer Fred Penner. The show featured live performances by nominees such as Buffy Sainte-Marie and Jennifer Castle. Between songs, O&B served dishes representing Canada from coast to coast: Halifax donairs with spiced ground beef; pierogi poutine with Quebec curds, Montreal steak spice gravy and crispy P.E.I. potatoes; kale Caesar salad with crispy double-smoked bacon, grilled cheese croutons and Clamato-marinated hard-boiled eggs; and crispy Atlantic salmon tacos with Asian slaw and edamame avocado hummus. The event concluded in true Canuck fashion with deep-fried Nanaimo bars and O&B's take on classic beaver tails.
